A lift up please

Imagine you could order different types of lift ups in a shop like a favourite dish on the menu.

What would be your favourite lift up? Good mood? Lightness? Humour? Energy or perhaps 20 years of rejuvenation through lifting?

In principle, we already do this indirectly by buying things that we expect to ‘kick-start’ us or booking trips that distract us from a gloomy mood, work or relationship stress and so on.

Always in the expectation that it will work for longer.

And is that the case?

Mostly not, because we take our inner system with us wherever we go. A fresh exterior, a new city experience tends to lift our mood in the short term.

Why is that the case?

Because the hope for a better mood is focussed on the outside and attempts are interchangeable at will. Good for marketing, but not good for me.

A lift in my mood starts when I embark on the adventure of discovering myself and my own nature and body, when I renew my expectations of myself. When I become more loving and respectful of myself and recognise myself for what I do and who I am.

When I no longer postpone my essential needs due to old beliefs or unconscious and subtle programmes.

This includes strategies such as ‘First I have to ... and then I can ...’ or ‘If ... then ...’

Example: First comes this or that goal and then I take care of my health and my relationship.

However, my life doesn't take place in the future, but in the here and now, in this moment. Anything I push into the future will not improve my mood today.

How about asking yourself now what makes you feel good, what signals your body is giving you, what thoughts and emotions motivate you and what feels alive.

Lift up your mood - be your best friend.
